Support the Liberty University Campus Farm

Support the Liberty University Campus Farm

The Issue

Liberty University is defunding the Campus Farm.

The Campus Farm teaches sustainable farming practices and Christian stewardship of the land. The farm has only been operational since the late spring of 2013 and has grown tremendously since then. Students and community members are able to learn how to produce farm-fresh food while improving the environment.

Food from the Campus Farm is sold at Doc's Farmers Market on campus and through a Harvest Share program, as well as served at Farmer's Field in the Tilley Student Center. The Campus Farm donates food to several local charities including the Liberty Godparent Home, Lynchburg Grows, and the Lynchburg Daily Bread.

Liberty University students, faculty, and staff and Lynchburg City Residents request that the administration at Liberty University maintain funding the Campus Farm, for purposes of education and community engagement. We propose that the farm remain an open space that contributes to the physical, mental, and spiritual health of students and community members.

Please sign and share this petition to urge Liberty administration to reconsider their decision to defund the farm!
