On 11/14, Chancellor Dubois announced that the class period length at UNC Charlotte would be changed from 75 minutes to 50 minutes. This change was made in an attempt to have more classroom utilization on Fridays. However, many students like to construct their schedules so they are free on Fridays to do homework and free up their weekends or just to have a 3-day weekend. Students have always had the chance to take Friday classes if they wish, and more often than not there is more room in those classes because many students like Fridays off. For these reasons, we petition to have 75-minute classes reinstated.
