In the Winter Quarter of 2015, the University of Denver informed students that tuition will increase by $2,000 starting in the Fall Quarter of 2016. On November 14th, 2016, this issue was brought up once more for the 2017-2018 plan.

This is a huge issue as many students are here on Federal Aid, Grants, and Scholarships or had their funds secured before this increase. While Additionally, the University has not explicity mentioned increasing merit scholarships for students to aid this significant tuition increase. 

To combat this increase, we have three options for the University of Denver to consider: 

• Create a Grandfather Clause, which is commonly found in other private universities, that allows students to continue to pay the amount presented to them upon admission to the school. 

• Give detailed outlines of where tuition increase is going and how the increase will directly benefit us as students while enrolled at DU

• Increase merit scholarship so they are the same percentage as they are with current tuition
