Challenging a Long Abused Power, Revoking the Pardon Granted to Ross Ulbricht

The Issue

This year President Trump freed a notorious drug dealer, Ross Ulbricht, who was responsible for the Silk Road site. This pardon is not about red versus blue or any singular personal opinion but about upholding the justice system and presenting a long standing problem in America, abuse of pardons. In the past other controversial figures like Nixon, Hunter Biden, Casper W. Weinberger (Who sold arms to Iran while in office and lied about it), and Marc Rich who evaded around $48 in taxes.

This most recent case has Trump, someone who has taken a rather strong anti-drug stance, freeing a drug dealer that during his years active was responsible for a large portion of the drug trade. It can be estimated that, in his time active, he contributed around 1% of the drug trade through his site, not to mention the hitmen for hire and illegal firearms sales.

Pardons in America are a plenary power, a term meaning absolute, and now we are seeing just how this absolute power can be so corruptive. This injustice needs to be vocalized, this petition is only a small step towards limiting actual government overreach, it starts with putting a true criminal back in prison and hopefully end with pardons having actual limits imposed on them. Our forefathers believed ever so heavily in balancing power in the government, and while for a long time such a power was not abused now we are seeing it abused like never before.

Remember, this is not about party affiliation or personal beliefs, this is about addressing a long standing problem in America which both sides have used to their advantage. I ask for your signature, your contribution to make some real noise and help fight for a free and fair America.
