My family and I have been dedicated members of the nitelife industry for over two decades. This vibrant sector of our local economy, fueling city life and entertaining residents and tourists alike, is now under threat due to recent decisions. On January 28, 2025, our city council, without extending an invitation to us for negotiation or compromise, voted to enact an ordinance that could potentially cripple our industry.

These direct assaults on the nitelife industry are not only concerning for us, the workers and businesses who make our living from it, but also for the local economy. This sector significantly contributes to our you city's economy. The harm extends beyond just us and implicates the health and well-being of our entire city.

Moreover, a disheartening amount of slander and misinformation has been circulated in media outlets regarding our industry. This campaign of defamation further jeopardizes our livelihoods, fostering a hostile environment for us to operate in, and passively allowing the ordnance to be seen as justified.

Given these circumstances, we urge the city council to revisit their decision and offer us the opportunity to partake in discussions which directly impact our lives, our families’ lives, and the very culture of our city. We demand accurate portrayal of our industry in the media so that the public can form informed opinions about the importance of the nitelife contribution to the city’s identity and economy.
