Challenge the Decision to Euthanize My Emotional Support Dog

The Issue

My dog, an acclaimed figure in our capital district and my pillar of emotional support, is under the threat of euthanization. This ruling has ignored the fact that my dog provides comfort to me every day, helping me overcome difficult times. His calming presence has become a highlight across our district, and he has consistently demonstrated gentle behavior.

Yet, he is being deemed “dangerous,” an accusation with no basis in fact. The American Veterinary Medical Association states that singling out individual dogs as dangerous based on their breed or perceived breed can lead to ‘inconsistent and ineffective results’ (Jennings, 2014). My dog's case is an epitome of this inconsistency; his behavior and role in my life disregarded, he has been condemned on baseless grounds.

We question the decision that labels my dog as menacing, and we call for an urgent reassessment. He is a significant part of my life, contributing meaningfully to my emotional well-being, akin to 43.3 million households in the US who enjoy the benefits of pet ownership (American Pet Products Association, 2019).

Join me to safeguard my emotional support dog's life and reevaluate the unjust ruling to euthanize him. Stand up for what's right and just in our community. Please sign this petition and help protect my dog's life.
