We are a family who have always cherished the magic and nostalgia of Christmas. The joy our holiday display brings to others motivates us to continue making it bigger and brighter each year. When we moved, we did our due diligence by contacting the City of Oakwood about using Christmas lights on the trees in front of our house and lighted arches over the sidewalks. We were given approval as long as no cords ran on the sidewalks.

After investing time, money, and heart into creating a festive spectacle for everyone to enjoy, we were told that we cannot do this despite there being no ordinance against it. This is not just about us; it's about preserving community spirit during a season that is meant for joy and unity.
