Dear Burlington School Board Commissioners and Superintendent Yaw Obeng,

We- the many voices of Burlington parents, teachers, and interested community members- would like to express our concern that the next Burlington school board meeting will be held in the Edmunds Library on Thursday, Oct 13th. Many in our community have voiced concerns with this space being too small to accommodate the many interested parties. We as parents, teachers, community members, etc. deserve to be present and participate in the board meeting. This school community is in crisis. We deserve to have a full democracy and active voice in our schools. No matter where we each fall on the spectrum of opinions in this negotiation process, communication is key and respect is vital. By holding this meeting in a smaller space you only silence such an important part of democracy and citizen engagement. I hope you will hear our voices and move the meeting to a larger space at Edmunds such as the auditorium or cafeteria. Burlington High School is also available and has a large meeting space.
