I do hope this e-mail finds you well, despite the wider circumstances. Thank you very much for your recent e-mail to Ben Lake MP regarding the campaign for a pelican crossing to be installed at Talybont adjacent the school. 

I have discussed your e-mail and campaign with Ben this morning, and he has requested I answer on his behalf to ensure the matter is dealt with in a timely manner.  

First and foremost, may we take this opportunity to thank you for starting such petition and bringing it to our attention. Both Ben and I are aware of the concerns regarding the A487 through the village, and the danger it poses to children and parents trying to get to school in the morning and afternoon. 

It is heartening to see that the petition has gathered significant support locally – showing the strength of such concerns.  

As the A487 is a trunk road, responsibility for speed limits and restriction lies with the Welsh Government, and as such, we would gladly write to Ken Skates MS, Welsh Government Minister for Economy & Transport, drawing his attention to this concern and campaign, and the need for action.  

We will raise such concerns with him and certainly keep you updated on any responses we receive.
