Save Harp Seals by Urging Hollywood to Stop Filming in Canada
The Issue
Photo copyright IFAW
Harp seal pups are about to be slaughtered in massive numbers by Canadian fishermen. They’re clubbed and shot by the hundreds of thousands with the support of the Canadian government. They die an agonizing death; some are skinned alive. This horrific massacre has been condemned by countries and organizations around the world, including the European Union and the Russian Federation.
Hundreds of movies are filmed in Canada every year, providing big bucks for the Canadian economy, including Interstellar, Inception, Titanic and Twilight, to name just a few. We can help stop the slaughter by asking major movie studios and producers to stop filming in Canada until the commercial harp seal hunt is ended for good.
Please sign this petition to movie studios and producers urging them to not film in Canada until the harp seal massacre is a thing of the past. Help send a strong message that the commercial harp seal hunt will no longer be tolerated by industries supporting the Canadian economy
