The Issue

The aggressive campaign to silence pro-family and children's rights campaigners is going further every day.  This is a modern McCarthyism.

Now ultra-extreme LGBT militants who have already targeted Dr Robert Oscar Lopez to try to get him sacked from his post at University of California at Northridge, are trying to persuade Amazon.com to stop selling books he has written or edited.

These include the excellent and very important book Jephthah's Daughters; Innocent Casualties in the War for Family 'Equality'. This book is the first ever to present the point of view of children of homosexuals, a point of view that is too often ignored and overlooked. Dr Lopez is himself a child of lesbians, and a bisexual, but his voice is considered too dissenting to be tolerated by LGBT dogmatists.

This is not an issue of "gay rights" but one of freedom versus censorship.

WE CALL ON AMAZON TO RESIST CENSORSHIP, BOYCOTTS OR BLACKMAIL AND RESPECT THE HUMAN RIGHT TO FREE EXPRESSION. THIS APPLIES JUST AS MUCH TO CHILDREN OF HOMOSEXUALS AS TO HOMOSEXUALS OR ANYBODY ELSE.

This book provides a range of perspectives on the toll of redefining marriage, with special emphasis on the challenges posed to six general classes: children, women, society as a whole, foreign nations, gay men, and purveyors of free speech. Included are fifty-seven essays, over 550 endnotes, and a mix of humanities and social-science perspectives. A must-read to get the full picture of what was at stake with the gay marriage debate. Many testimonials from children of same-sex couples are the first of their kind to be published here.
