TDCJ - NEED CHANGES FOR OUR INMATES!!!! SO MANY UNFAIR ACTS AGAINST OUR FRIENDS/FAMILIES!!

The Issue

the objective - to let others see the misdirection and lies sold by the corporate giant Texas Department of Criminal Justice and TCI- Texas Correctional Instititue.
Formate: State Problem, attempts to resolve by us, resolution by them. (Them being TDCJ)
Areas to give testimony about: the conditions in the chow hall, recreation, commissary pricing, medical services, shake-downs/cell-searches, harassment in normal day operations of the unit, education workshops: Vocational training and College courses.
Make comparisons to other units, other state prisons. What has been foind to be successful, What has been done there to make it that way and keep it that way.
Give examples of harassment: Clothing exchange, chow-hall. walkways, day-room (told to sit down, no seats, tv volume, etc) Disregard by staff of their own rules and regulations. In and outs, interpretation on what is considered contraband (not meeting all 3 aspects of the rules) Grievence lack of strength to resolve complaints or issues. Education not effective enough to help people upon release. Funding is an issue. Diciplinary, actions taken against inmates to keep them in prison so the state can continue to receive Federal Funding and work that requires inmates to continue production. Much of the recretational programs have been shut down, EX: No Craft Shop. Issues on lack of sleep, forces to work too early, day room noise is too loud, etc. 2-3 people proof read document before sending out to be published. Publisher needs to be resourseful enough to direct other traffic, for example: FAcebook post, news to read article, twitter feeds, instagram. Make an interactice webpage blog style if possible. Wiki-leaks. Direct Senetors, Governors, etc. to view and react and to REFORM the Penal System. Show the financial benefits, suggest a plan of improvement not just a complaint.

Goal is to prevent redicism-social reform and education.
Write testimony about average days in prison and how being incarcerated is counterproductive to inmates rehabilitation. No sharing, no speaking, and rules constantly violated by officers. Some officers believe this job is to treat us very badlly, deny us, and torture us. Mailroom complaints: Monopoly of stamps, mailroom rules and how they compare to other units.
sub-standered cleaning: no buckets or washbins to wash clothes, we havet to use the toilet for laundry. No cleaning supplies or broom to clean the cells with (only day room broom but we cant use it in our cells)
Disciplinary-affecting parole directly- 3 minor cases=1 major cases, how major cases remove phone privilages which are paid for by the family of the inmate.
Destabilizing families in a discriminary parole board. Need testimony stories, first hand accounts and their parole denial.
Religious Issues: unit does not meet the needs of other religions, only caters to Christian based religion, access to chapel, no volunteers for other religions, blaten disdrespect by staff toward other religions.
We need to assure that we don't come across as Anarchist (against the gov) bust serious enough to get recognition for change. IF TDCJ was a car, it would be considered a lemon. Sold with external apperence that looks good from the outside but on the inside, it don't work good at all. when a unit is due for inspectionby the state or ACA, the unit prepares for it, food service and security are altered to look like they are constant , but its all a front. Inmates are not to speak even punished if thtey should bring up an issue to a state officials attention while they inspect the unit.
