1. Those with Disabilities in Australia receiving the Disability Support Pension (DSP), who look for and retain work whilst living with a disability should NOT be penalised for working by cutting down or reducing their payments.

It is DISCRIMINATION to cut their DSP payments down or off, if they work (whether that’s a few hours a week or 30 hours+).

People living with a disability can not get ahead in life compared to those living without a disability who can work, or retain full time jobs, work for 30+ hours a week in higher paying jobs over the course of their life and build for their future.

The DSP allowance should be SUBSEQUENT to them working in order to compensate for their handicap compared to an abled person. It is discrimination to cut their allowance if they work - whatever work they do. This means they end up working (for those that can work) with their disability - and Centrelink decreases their payments as their work hours increase and those working with a disability end up getting the same amount of money or LESS than if they did not work at all. This is especially important for those who are indigenous Australians living with a disability or severe disability who try to work. Those with a mental, physical, intellectual or psychiatric disability are the most vulnerable in our society, STOP punishing their efforts
