Central Unified's school board voted to change the name of James K. Polk Elementary and to change the Native American mascot of Madison Elementary.

Maria Moreno Elementary because she is a role model for everyone. We can all celebrate her. She also has ties to the community.

We heard that the opposition is rallying behind Margaret Mims, who is a person that many consider to be racist and anti-immigrant.
