The school board told me that they would vote for my proposal to rename my school if I showed that I had community support. I came to the board meeting with a lot of community support, but the board president Yesenia Carrillo had already decided that she was not going to hold a vote at the next board meeting. Instead, she chose to hand power over to the one board member who was opposed to the name change. Why?
