­Dear Supporters,

There has been some movement on the resurfacing as a result of our petition. The Conservancy emailed the CPDSA on Monday, August 2nd, regarding the resurfacing. It was obvious (from the unusual friendly tone) that the petition came to their attention.

The email assured the CPDSA that the process was moving forward but there are many steps involved. No details with regard to when the resurfacing gets done. All vague assurances. They are simply stalling, hoping we will give up and go away.

We are going nowhere. The resurfacing needs to be done this month or it is unlikely to be done in 2021. There are many park events in The Skate Circle in September besides CPDSA events. After that, it could be too cold. We need it done now!

I am asking you to please write a short email both to Chris Nolan (cnolan@centralparknyc.org) and to Caroline Greenleaf(cgreenleaf@centralparknyc.org) at the Conservancy asking them “to kindly speed up the process for getting the necessary approvals and get the resurfacing done.” It is not rocket science. It is just a resurfacing!
