On 8/28 it was announced by the Central Athletic League, serving 12 public High Schools in the Suburban Philadelphia area, following the direction from the PA Dept of Education, Chester and Montgomery Health Depts and the PA Gov office, that they are postponing (not cancelling???) fall sports.  I read this as an opening to challenge our districts to reverse their decision and start the revised season as planned in mid September and or 1st week of October (football).    I estimate that we have at least 7,500 students affected by this decision between the 12 member schools, competing at the Varsity, JV and Frosh levels.  I am also including band members, as they are an integral part of Friday Night Lights.  Strath Haven has around 400 band members, 1/3 of our HS enrollment.

Out of the 86 schools cancelling football, 37 are in District1 and 42 in D12.  Several schools have reversed their decision to PLAY in recent days.  Let's organize to reverse the direction of our 12 in the CAL and towards the other 86 in PA.  Shrink the 15% that were forced to forgo their fall sports season.  The spring sports already suffered enough last year, don't take away from their time, or the winter athletes.

Turn on ESPN, high schools across the USA are playing and WITH bands and spectators.  We need to fight the 250 ppl per event maximum as well.  Why can't we be the next Carlisle Car Show???

Kids will be playing in PA this fall, why shouldn't it be ours!!!

I can't do this alone and will need structure to do this and quickly as time is of the essence.  We will need student leaders from each school and for each team and the bands.  BTW I have been counting Cheer teams, as they are also a sanctioned athletic team and the most vocal of the group!

Please sign this petition, both students, parents, coaches and friends.  Spread this to the other cancelled leagues/schools so they can organize with us and towards their respective leaders.

More information will be forthcoming on facebook to help organize, receive ideas and secure legal support.  If they approved the Carlisle Car Show, allowing 20,000 participants per day in June, we should have our fall season!
