Alarmed over the fact that only 20 per cent of the 25,576 cases filed for non-payment of rent from tenants occupying temple lands were disposed of in the last four years, the Madras High Court directed the State government to appoint maximum number of revenue officers so that pending revenue can be collected expeditiously.
