In recent days we have seen example of Latur where people are facing water crisis. Though its caused by poor monsoon but we should not be completely depending on Monsoon for water. There are many examples in India itself where the states like Chennai came out of Water crisis and as of today there is no water shortage. Its good time when Central Govt and State Govt work together to deal the water crisis. 

This time monsoon is going to be better than average, Governments should also think of Plantation which holds water and maintains the ground water level. Plants/trees also help to bring down the geological temperature. 

Steps which a Govt can take:

1. Implementing schemes like rain water harvesting and Rain centers.
2. Avoid Rivers,  ponds, reservoirs and lakes to get polluted by sewage and chemicals from factories.
3. Projects like Telugu Ganga project , where water is brought from water-surplus rivers through canals and storing that water into reservoirs.
4. construct couple of sea water desalination plants to further increase the water supply.
5. Aware people for saving water by advertisements, street plays, hoardings.
