• At Central Bucks West High School, I am involved in the No Place for Hate club, an organization focused on promoting equity and inclusion, a place created to be a safe environment for students who do not fit the typical profile. With this club comes the component of action, action to make the Central Bucks community truly equal and inclusive.
• As the most auspicious holiday in Hinduism, celebrating Diwali with friends and family is important for Hindus around the globe.
  As some religious holidays of other significant faiths are being recognized in our community, my argument, which has been made across the nation, and in our neighboring districts is, Diwali too should be equally recognized.
  Therefore, I would like to propose that the Central Bucks School Board recognizes Diwali on the academic calendar as a day when all schools in our district are closed.
• With the support of others through this petition, I hope the School Board votes to recognize Diwali on our academic calendar in the years going forward.
