Petition to change the current CBSE Grade 12 assessment scheme to grading based on internal assessment.

The Central Board Of Secondary Education released a statement regarding the board examination of 2020 which were canceled, because of the ongoing pandemic. The announcement states that the students will be assessed based on the two or three exams they had already written. It also stated how the students of grade-XII whose examinations were to be conducted from July 1sr to July 15th have an option to rewrite their exams, which will be conducted as soon as the conditions are conducive.

This course of action for the assessment of the students of grade X and XII is absurd. Most students of grade XII had attended their chemistry and physics examination; these exams in itself were very difficult and most students are not likely to score well. So for the Central Board to base the students’ overall grade on these exams- in which they probably will not score well- will result in a much lower average. And, not all students have a chance to rewrite their examinations; only those whose exams were to be conducted from July 1st to July 15th, which is greatly unfair to all the other students, mostly the NRI’s, whose exams had been canceled as well. So, according to us, the Central Board Of Secondary Education either needs to be extremely lenient while grading the examination, or they could assess every student based on their internal examinations and practicals, which, according to many students, would increase their average and their chances of getting admitted into good colleges or universities.

If the Central Board doesn't think this out properly, the lives of numerous students will be spoiled. This is our final result, we have been preparing for this for all of our high-school lives. And for the Central Board to take this decision, which, in its own is a very unreasonable, is - to put it plainly- truly unfair.
Education is supposed to be something that makes us aware, and helps us become better citizens but not something that takes a mental toll on us.

So, we request the Central Board to either grade us based on internal assessments or be lenient in correcting our papers.
