In light of the recent devastating news of the death of 14 year old Celeste Rivas Hernandez whose body was found in the front trunk of a Tesla in California; this petition is for the countless lives that have been brutally lost due to inability to escape being locked in a trunk. Although,  it is still speculation that Celeste Rivas Hernandez actually died in a trunk, this brings light to a serious and dark issue. Imagine spending your final moments in a hot trunk in the middle of the day in sunny California!? As a victim myself of human trafficking and domestic violence I feel particularly connected to this unique case…No one should have to endure such torment and pure anguish. The Celeste Law bill will disable criminals from being able to imprison and cause the death of a victim locked in a trunk.
