Over the last 5 years, Second Chance Saloon has become a home away from home for many and a vital part of the community of Oakland Mills. Just a few days ago we learned that Cedar Realty Trust, Inc. would not be renewing the lease agreement and that our local watering hole was in danger of becoming a memory.

Please consider signing and sharing this petition as support of Cedar Realty Trust, Inc. negotiating a new lease agreement with the owners of Second Chance Saloon- Wendy Binder & Declan Wood. Every signature counts. I'm not above begging.

As a long-time staff member of Second Chance Saloon (as well as the former Fire Rock Grill and The Columbia Bank in OMVC), I have seen such growth in the Oakland Mills Village Center since Second Chance opened its doors. The parking lot is buzzing again. Regular patrons travel up to 30 miles once or twice a week to come to a local dive bar tucked away in a Columbia neighborhood! We have certainly made a name for ourselves that continues to grow and attract new business to the center each day. Last year, we were a runner up out of 5 Bars in the state for Best Bar 2012 by the Restaurant Association of Maryland. Check any social media site- we have a huge following on Facebook & Twitter as well as countless online reviews, news articles, community events, and fundraising events. The owners and staff at Second Chance have worked diligently to market & expand our clientele- it would be a detriment to the village center to take it away.
