PRESS RELEASE— Four GLSEN National Student Council Members Quit in Protest Against Silence on Gaza Genocide

We urgently call on LGBTQIA2S+ organizations to publicly support an immediate and lasting ceasefire in Gaza. It's crucial for them to align with their mission statements and actively work towards LGBTQIA2S+ equality.

Organizations like GLAAD, GLSEN, HRC, PFLAG, The Trevor Project, and others must use their influence to end the ongoing violence. Silence on the death toll in Gaza signals complicity in genocide.

We condemn the Israeli Occupation Force (IOF) for deceptive "pinkwashing," using LGBTQIA2S+ symbols to divert attention from their actions. LGBTQIA2S+ organizations must denounce this and reject neutrality in the face of genocide.

We call on LGBTQIA2S+ individuals, groups, and leaders to:

• Demand an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza.
• Pressure officials to end U.S. aid to Israel.
• Cut financial ties with entities supporting military actions.
• Include queer Palestinians in LGBTQIA2S+ justice pursuits.
• Reject queer symbols for colonial pinkwashing propaganda.
• Raise awareness about the struggles of queer Palestinians.

We stand in solidarity with queer Palestinians facing violence.

LGBTQIA2S+ organizations have the power to influence change urgently.

THERE IS NO PRIDE IN GENOCIDE.

This includes the ongoing genocides in Gaza, Sudan, Myanmar, Congo, Turtle Island, China, Ethiopia, Iraq, Syria, and others worldwide. There is also no pride in settler-colonialism. Our pride thrives in genuine liberation, fostering a world where everyone lives freely and authentically.
