Ceasefire Now, Save Animals in Gaza

Ceasefire Now, Save Animals in Gaza

The Issue

Current Status of Animals in Gaza

The United Nations reports that 90% of the population of Gaza regularly goes a whole day without food. Other basic necessities like clean water, fuel, medicine and medical supplies are all scarce. In the face of all this, some zookeepers in Gaza say animals are dying of starvation.

The ongoing war between Israel and Hamas has greatly infected the people as well as the animals. Due to fear of being killed, some families flew from their homes and left some of their pets and animals. Palestine has endured immeasureable devastation. The genocide took incalculable of lives as Israel proceeds their campaign on legitimizing their dehumanization through starvation, endless airstrikes, and bombings. The concern that was discernably overlooked is the confirmation of assurance of the welfare of creatures. Within the 'anthropocentric' Worldwide Helpful Law, there are contracts that ruins the mishandle and disciplines done to civilians, but there's  no worldwide contract that recognizes the require for security of the lives of creatures, or natural life in common. Relocation, Starvation, Enduring, and Passing. These are moreover being managed by creatures:  Family pets whose owners' lives have not been spared; Natural life creatures with normal environments that have been crushed; and finally creatures that have been captured and shown in zoos.

Why do you we need to save the animals in Gaza?

Over 40 animals were suffering in Rafah Zoo, Gaza. At the beginning of 2019, Gaza's oldest zoo attracted worldwide attention. Four lion cubs froze to death there due to the harsh weather and poor keeping conditions. Only a few weeks later, a 14-month-old lioness was permanently mutilated by the brutal and unprofessional removal of her claws.

Ways to help the animals in Gaza:

  • Amplify the calls for life-saving supplies for animals to be brought into Gaza and Donate to help purchase essential supplies for animals in Gaza
  • Donate to help purchase necessities Gaza's animal population needs.
  • Aid delivery to Gaza is a highly politicized topic, and it is at the center of discussions leading to the most recent brief ceasefire.

We are demanding a ceasefire to end the suffering of innumerable lives. With the collective efforts of pushing this advocacy, may we see the light of day a bright future for the civilians, the natural land, and the animals of Palestine.
