Ever since I was introduced to i-Ready, my educational experience has drastically declined. As a victim of this situation, I can honestly confess that I dread i-Ready. It seems I am not alone in this plight. Numerous comments on educational forums resonate with my sentiment, showing a widespread discomfort with the program.

i-Ready is a K-12 adaptive Diagnostic tool designed to assess students on their individual skill level- sounds great in theory, doesn't it? Unfortunately, it's quite the contrary. The i-Ready system, despite being widely used, often presents content that is either too easy or too difficult for students, failing to provide an appropriate learning progression (Caskey, 2018). This, in turn, leads to fruitless hours struggling with content that isn't suitably matched to the learner's capabilities.

Furthermore, a 2019 study conducted by the American Institutes for Research (AIR) found that the frequent use of i-Ready did not lead to significant gains in Mathematics and Reading achievement for elementary school students. This proves that i-Ready not only fails to assess students accurately but also does little to improve their academic performances.

We have a responsibility to provide the best educational tools to our students and it's clear that i-Ready does not meet this standard. It is time to stand against this ineffective tool and demand a halt to its operations in order to protect our children's education from further harm.
