Up to 300,000 ACRES of Michigan Forests and farmland are at risk for used as solar arrays and wind turbine sites

Michigan will go DARK as this “clean and green” energy source is insufficient to meet the needs of this State

There is nothing Clean or Green about the production, manufacturing and disposal of Solar Panels and Wind Turbines.

• OUR FORESTS, LAKES, RIVERS, and Wildlife under imminent threat
• DNR is allowing PRIVATE COMPANIES ( CCP) to BID on PUBLIC and PRIVATE land for the purpose of building SOLAR FARMS and Wind Turbines
• Resulting in deforestation, destruction of wildlife habitats, ecosystems and farm land. 
• The repercussions are not just environmental.
•  This development harms our TOURISM industry,Places local farms, hotels, and restaurants and other small business at risk for closing o
• Michigan is valued worldwide for its rich natural offerings such as hunting, fishing, camping, skiing, snowmobiling, hiking and boating.
• Veritably, our state is the biggest producer of red sour cherries in the nation, second-largest producer of apples, All these sectors stand to suffer massively due to the commercial bidding on public land.
  ~~Solar panels are contracted through the CCP and while Michigan has suffered the highest unemployment, zero job growth and the loss of manufacturing; PA 233 and 235, HB 5120 were Land Grabs that were rammed through the legislature during the lame duck period.

• Small farms report their attempts to lessen energy costs to operate by using Solar, Wind and Fuel has left them all short in the energy needed to operate from October to April
• Imagine what will happen when the entire State of Michigan is forced to operate on an inadequate grid that is supposed to provide energy to Residential, Commercial and Industrial facilities across the state 
• ~Additionally, our weather conditions aren't conducive to solar farming, negating the supposed reasons for these takings. The extensive deforestation and destruction of habitats are irreversible and far outweigh any potential benefits the solar farms could provide
• ~~~The time has come to take a stand to protect Michigan's natural and economic heritage.
• We must stop DNR and private companies from appropriating public lands for development of energy sources inefficient, ineffective and unaffordable for an  already suffering Michigan.
• The Director of the DNR is a former CPA, appointed without the background or eduction in environmental protection, ecosystem balance. His appointment was not done by hearing with majority vote
• Let's hold them accountable to the public and the environment. Please sign this petition for the future of our homes, businesses, and the generations to come.
• Please take a moment and consider the beauty of Northern Michigan, now picture it thousands of acres of Solar Panel Farms where Forests and farming land once stood.

• Do you want your land value, home value and property values to decrease because these now surround the areas you sought for the love and peace of nature?

Tell LANSING NO, We want OUR LAND, FORESTS, FARM LAND pristine. It is not for SALE.  CCP has no right to our land, in MI or anywhere in the US. We do need to care for our environment but destroying it to protect is non sensical.
