Xmas Cycle Cheer??

Well maybe that's being over optimistic but there is some progress even if in the form of meetings.  You're support may be called upon again to petition the Executive Management Team (most of who are new after the mass of resignations) about the need for more bike (and scooter) parking.  If you happen to know them or bump into them feel free to mention bike parking (lack of)..........

Some facts.

Bike parking was removed from the Waipapa plans by the MOH on the basis of "value management", a lovely euphemism.  There is no provision for bike parking in the 2030 masterplan for the Hillmorton site (please correct me if I'm wrong).

Based on the total ground area of the main campus CCC recommends about 445 spaces for bike parking .  There should be at least 1.1m between the back wheels of bikes in opposing racks - bike wheels overlap in the Anaesthetic/Mortuary park!

I counted 537 bikes around the main campus this morning, 196 in the ED facility (apparently the tanks will be gone by Xmas), 196 in the Anaesthetic/Mortuary park and the rest in the new Waipapa areas, outside Women's, the Medical School and the old ED.
