Bike update

I wish I had more positive news for you but you know nothing happens quickly in CDHB......The Climate Emergency is another reminder why this easily dismissed problem is relevant.

There are 2 small unsecure areas to park at Waipapa, under the ED ramp (photo and under Willow Cafe (between ED ramp and link bridge).  Both have about 20 rack spaces.

I am in touch with the company that provides bike racks to get an idea of how many spaces out current facilities should have when racks are sensibly spaced. This will help inform how many new spaces we after  we decluttering the current facilities to make them more user friendly.

I am in touch with City Council about why some of the areas proposed for bike parking have been declined. We may need to lobby the council to persuade them to provide a pragmatic solution especially now NZ has declared Climate Emergency

The water tanks and container should be removed from the cage outside ED before Christmas and more racks established

FYI there was a recent presumed break in attempt into the secure park outside the Anaesthetic Dept - wire cut to access emergency door opening switch. Swiftly repaired by the maintenance Dept - thanks to them.
