Addiction , All we know about addiction seems to have been lost when discussing the so called Heroin Epidemic through out the United States , We know a person is an addict long before they do their first drug or discover their drug of choice. We know there are codependency issues , genetics that predispose some people to addiction and we know the addicts brain works a little differently than what would be considered a "Normal" Brain.

As a Chronic Pain Patient on Long term treatment with opiates I AM OUTARAGED with how we are treated . How we continually hear how our doctors our pill pushers and pain management sites are pill mills.

I AM OUTRAGED that doctors who would rather cut people open are so afraid to prescribe a pill to address pain and how these otherwise well respected physicians are continually talking about how "there is no clear evidence long term treatment with opiates is beneficial" NO ONE HAS ASKED ME?

The past 10 years I have generated over 1 millions dollars to provide for my family, pay taxes , and contribute greatly to the US economy .

I WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ABLE TO WORK AT ALL AND WOULD HAVE BEEN ON DISABILITY if it were not for the treatment I receive that include opiates , both long acting and short acting. Without the use of these drugs I would be a cripple.

Millions of people are in my situation. DO YOU CARE?

My veterinarian does not think twice about prescribing pain medicine to my dog when there are clear indications of pain , but yet when we speak of human beings you would prefer for us to "tough it out" ? YOU WOULD DENY A HUMAN BEING THE RIGHT TO PAIN RELIEF?

"Chronic Pain Patients Protection Act" this law will protect the right of all Chronic pain patients to continue the treatment that has helped them and this law will also protect the right of any man women or child have immediate access to opioid medications when there are clear indications of pain.

The percentage of people on long term opioid medications that become heroin addicts is very small , The number of people who die in this country from opiate or heroin overdoses is almost non existent when compared to the number of people that die daily and yearly from Alcohol abuse but yet your attacking Pain Patients because of Heroin addicts

IT IS RIDICULOUS , HEROIN IS COMING FROM OUR SOUTHERN BORDER NOT MY PAIN MANAGEMENT OFFICE. HEROIN ADDICTS LIKE ALL ADDICTS ARE BORN NOT MADE.

I DEMAND THE ATTACK AGAINST US ENDS AND WE ARE PROTECTED AND ALL HUMAN BEINGS ARE PROTECTED TO HAVE THE RIGHT TO CHOOSE A LONG TERM OPIOIOD TEATMENT PLAN TO ADDRESS CHRONIC PAIN ISSUES .

How do you explain the fact in the UK a human can walk into any pharmacy and buy a OVER THE COUNTER PAIN MEDICINE CONTAINING CODENE but yet Americans cant handle that right? the UK doesn't seem to have the same Heroin problem .

IT DOES WORK, I AM LIVING PROOF .

I REJECT THE CDC AND THERE HAPHAZARD STUDIES BASED ON OVER REACTIONS TO AN EPIDEMIC , PERCEIVED OR REAL THAT SUGGEST OPIOID TREATMENT ON THE LONG TERM IS NOT HELPFUL. THAT IS A CARELESS AND UNACCEPTABLE STANCE TO TAKE.
