Set questions from the NCERT, the book you provide

The Issue

From the last two years, the Math CBSE paper is being asked from various other sources and not the book provided by the CBSE itself which is the NCERT.

The 2016 Mathematics paper had us students stumped and the calculations were very lengthy, many of us were not even able to finish the paper in the allotted 3 hours.

There are hundreds of students aspiring to study in the UK and Canada. Many students, including me, have already got offers from excellent universities, including Cambridge and Oxford, conditional upon a certain number of marks in the boards. Thousands of students like me, prepared for months relentlessly. We stayed up all night, drunk coffee, didn't sleep for days. We didn't have time to eat, or talk to family because we were always buried in books. We practiced the textbook the CBSE gave us. We tested ourselves using the same sample papers CBSE gave us. We abided by the blueprint the CBSE provided us. And yet The CBSE did not have the decency to warn us of a difficult paper.

In an educational system that puts all emphasis on the 12th marks, The CBSE cannot afford to experiment so coolly with it. Numerous 6 markers were worth 12. 4 markers were worth 6. The paper was stupidly long and exasperating.

I urge The CBSE to give grace marks and be lenient in checking for the sake of the young minds of your country. They should not be working against us. They should be helping us every step of this highly pressurizing journey.
