Jennifer Esposito has been forced to leave Blue Bloods due to her celiac disease diagnosis. Jennifer originally started working on the show as a part-time character and then her character went full time. Her health began to suffer when her work days increased and she collapsed on the set. Per her doctors orders, she needs to cut back on her work schedule, but that doesn't fit into CBS's plans for her character, so not only have they prevented her from coming back to the show, they are also keeping her from working anywhere else.
According to Jennifer, “CBS put me on unpaid leave and has blocked me from working anywhere else after my doctor said I needed a reduced schedule due to celiac. CBS didn’t listen to my doc and I collapsed on set. Which everyone saw! After a week off my doc said I could return to work but CBS implied that I was not truly ill and this was a scheme to get a raise! It’s been almost two months without bringing me back to work + keeping me from working anywhere else!… Absolutely shameful behavior.”
We need to make our voices heard and help get Jennifer back to work. Please sign this petition and encourage others who have autoimmune diseases to do the same. This type of discrimination is appalling and it needs to be addressed.
