Give Jennifer Jareau an aftermath episode on Criminal Minds

The Issue

If there is one thing that makes Criminal Minds the best, it's their main characters. The writers of Criminal Minds have perfected the skill of writing relatable, likable characters surrounded by serial killers. Criminal Minds has always been the best at getting their audience to be emotionally attached to their characters and have completely outdone any other TV show when it comes to season finales, mile markers and aftermath epsiodes. For example episode "Hit & Run"  and "100", and Reid dealing with being kidnapped by Tobias Hankel etc. Now for some reason, whether a writer has left the team or new writers have come into the scene, Criminal Minds is slowly loosing their gift in this past season 9.

In season 9 the top episodes include "Gatekeeper", "To Bear Witness", "The Edge of Winter" and of course "200" which was one of the best episodes in the series (except for that dreadful bar scene at the end). JJ was waterboarded, electrocuted, and almost raped ( we also find out in flashback form that she lost her child) and she's "fine" the next episode. Now Criminal Minds has always been known to treat it's male characters as superior, lets not forget what happened in season 6, but this is out of hand. Reid gets tortured, just like JJ, and is seen recovering through at least 5 episodes, and then gets a whole episode of grief after Maeve dies, Morgan goes through some hard times facing the man who molested him, Rossi even gets an aftermath episode for dealing with the death of Strauss, and of course Hotch has had many aftermath episodes dealing with Haley's death and the bombs and him being stabbed (even 5 season later there is an episode all about his stabbing). Yes; there has been many episodes dealing with the female characters' pain as well (Garcia and Emily) but there has been nothing of JJ. The writers say to this that she is "strong" but no one is that strong and no one is "fine" after being put through that.

Since "200" JJ has said the words "waterboarding", spoken to a victim of rape, and has helped a victim of torture and...nothing. Seeing as JJ is one of the favorite characters amongst the fans of Criminal Minds, along side Reid, Emily, and Garcia, it seems strange that the writers would not want to take advantage of that seeing as some of the top ratings the show has recied has been JJ centric episodes. Fans like to see the characters deal with things, it reminds them that they are human amist all the dark storylines.

This is either sexism, negligence, or just bad writing.
