Your Excellency:

It is with great dismay that we, the undersigned, learned of your untimely and devastating Congratulatory greeting to Mr. Biden and Sen. Kamala Harris following the 2020 General Election.
Your statement issued Nov. 7th was demeaning to President Trump who has been the most pro-life, pro-family President our country has seen.

It is obvious the Bishops could not wait one minute longer than necessary, even though prudence dictated otherwise, to jump on the secular bandwagon celebrating the supposed victory of Mr. Biden and Sen. Harris, who are diametrically opposed to Catholic virtues and morality.

What were you thinking? We are shocked that, while votes were still being counted, you would “congratulate” a man and woman who have promised to continue to support abortion on demand even with tax-payer funding. Biden who has no problem changing the sex of a child as young as eight years old! A man who has performed weddings for same sex couples - more than once! Harris who in 2019 and 2020, voted to refuse protections for babies born alive after an abortion. Each of them have recently promised to codify Roe v. Wade, which would keep it in place even if the Supreme Court overturns it.

Do you realize what you have done? You have slapped the face of every God- fearing pro-life person in this nation! You have in effect said, “Catholic Morality matters not. What matters is that we Catholic Bishops get out in front and lead the secular society down the path of perdition.” Does it not matter to you that the extreme positions of the Democrats to hunt down and kill an innocent child whose only crime is to beat unbelievable odds and survive an abortion is what you are congratulating? What were you thinking?

Your action is scandalous in the first degree. You know better than we what Jesus said, “But he that shall scandalize one of these little ones that believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone should be hanged about his neck, and that he should be drowned in the depth of the sea.” Matthew 18:6.

Your statement indicates a rush job. You state, “The American people have spoken.” Could you not wait until the legal challenges were settled? You speak of “coming together to compromise.” Just how do you propose we compromise with the Devil? “What,” you say? Perhaps you don’t even recognize that many principles of the Biden/Harris team come from the Evil One?

You ask us “to pray for a renewed spirit of true patriotism in our country.” Ah, so you feel President Trump and his 70 million voters are not patriotic? How many times must we be slapped on the face? Do you have no empathy for the 70 million voters whose stomachs are wrenched every time Biden claims he is a Catholic?

There has been a colossal failure of the Bishops to teach American Catholics that many issues of the Biden/Harris team are anti-Catholic. And yet you highlight Biden’s Catholic faith in your statement. You “congratulate Sen. Kamala D. Harris of California, who becomes the first woman ever elected as vice-president.” How can you get elated over this when you know she is anti-Catholic to the core? What faithful Catholic cares if she’s the first woman to be elected vice president? Oh, apparently many of the Bishops care, as they want to continue to be seen as men of the world, caring less about being Christ-like.

Finally, you had the gall to invoke the Blessed Mary Virgin to intercede for us, immediately after congratulating the most anti-life, anti-family, anti-marriage ticket this country has ever had. Don’t you think the Blessed Virgin Mary might doubt your sincerity?

We, the undersigned, are well aware that the Bishops are willing to overlook their dance with the Devil, as long as it results in the increase of hundreds of millions of dollars of government funding for the Catholic Church to help fund pet “woke” projects. The obviousness of this, among many other failures of the Bishops, is causing a cascading loss of respect.

In spite of all this, we faithful Catholics pray daily for a conversion of heart among the U.S. Bishops, and we pray that you will consider our thoughts presented in a spirit in which this is given.
