We, the undersigned, urge you to permit the responsible redevelopment of lodging for Rogers Pass in Canada's Glacier National Park. Publicly available lodging is a basic requirement for people to fully experience this important piece of Canadian heritage and identity. Lodging is also necessary to improve safety and backcountry access in Rogers Pass.
Redevelopment of Lodging in Rogers Pass can align with the principles of stewardship and citizen awareness upheld by Parks Canada. By increasing access, you will also increase public awareness of Glacier National Park's intrinsic value to Canada's heritage and identity, and ensure the park and its surrounding environment is protected for future generations.
The current lack of lodging and access in Rogers Pass is an impediment to the mission of Parks Canada: Strengthening a shared sense of Canadian identity which respects the diversity of the land and the people.
Please permit the responsible redevelopment of lodging for Rogers Pass.
