The HOPE Services team led by Sheila in Downtown Salinas did a stellar job of keeping the Downtown area clean and neat - plus provided jobs for intellectually challenged individuals, providing them meaningful work that they took great pride in completing every day. Downtown always looked great when HOPE Services were on the job. 

In the month they have been gone, (having been fired by the SCCIA - Salinas City Center Improvement Association for being "too slow") the downtown has never looked so wretched, plus the use of leaf blowers during business hours is a health hazard and does nothing to really clean the area. Leaf blowers during business hours violates the City's noise regulations and puts individuals at risk for hearing and breathing problems. The current state of downtown is embarrassing and is not inviting for customers and visitors to the area.

We want the SCCIA to re-hire Sheila's HOPE Services Team to clean Downtown as well as provide extra cleaning on weekends.
