Private Education schools have varied in what they feel is an acceptable decrease for the fee’s during this pandemic.

Many opting (quite rightly) to freeze school fee’s but many only allowing a 18%-30% decrease.

I feel all should freeze the fee’s, whilst the children are not in school they gain minimal appropriate schooling, as parents we try our best but we are not teachers and this is what we pay for- WHEN our children are in school. Home schooling is not an acceptable reason to charge 70% of the fee’s. 

In addition, many parents are self employed or been furloughed- adding extra financial pressure on the family. Some being unable to earn an income at all and being left in positions where they may have to withdraw children from schools purely because they have no way to pay for it when the children aren’t even in school. 
There is no financial help from the government at present, only suggested aids, to help with self employed income and many families who are able to work from home are only able to work at a reduced rate- due to no childcare and In return are earning a much less than normal wage.
