Save Terrell Country Store

Save Terrell Country Store
The Issue
We are petitioning to preserve history and the unique character and integrity of Terrell as characterized by the Terrell Country Store. The store has stood on its corner since 1863 and is a registered historical landmark. However, the historical building is now in jeopardy of being razed to the ground in the name of big business and callous, careless large-scale development.
When Terrell is mentioned, the Terrell Country Store comes to mind and its loss would be a devastating blow to the character of the small town. It is our desire to save Terrell Country Store from being torn down and becoming another stretch of bleak asphalt that brings nothing to the character or personality of the town.
The building has served many purposes, ranging from general store to post office, but is currently used as an antique store and community center run by Bob Sysol and Jo Ireland, who are passionate and outspoken in their desire to not see the building torn down, even though they have been forced to vacate their business from the building as a result of the impending sale and development.
