Catastrophic Road Flooding Disruptions to People of Bognor, Pagham and Beyond
Why this petition matters
Who is affected?
Residents and families of Bognor, Pagham, Shripney and surrounding areas are currently facing significant disruptions to their daily lives as a result of road flooding. Commutes to work and school have been made almost impossibly difficult, with many residents reporting that they are unable to leave their homes due to long traffic being backed up by road closures (Lower Bognor Road & Shripney) and unacceptable temporary traffic lights (Pagham Road). Local businesses have also been affected, with long delays due to drivers being stuck in traffic jams caused by the road issues.
What is at stake?
If immediate action is not taken to address the road flooding, the impacts on the community will only continue to worsen. People will continue to struggle to get to work and school, and local businesses may suffer permanent financial losses. The quality of life for residents in the affected areas will continue to decline, and the community as a whole will suffer.
Subsequently the ‘Local Plan’ also needs reviewing in light of the fact that the road infrastructure is not fit for purpose.
Why is now the time to act?
It is crucial that immediate action is taken to address the road flooding in Bognor, Pagham, Shipney and surrounding areas. The longer the problem persists, the more severe the impacts will be. By signing this petition, highlighting the impact and pushing for immediate remedial works to be carried out on Pagham Road, Lower Bognor Road, and Shripney Road, we can help alleviate the suffering of our community and ensure better representation of all residents now in in future. Now is the time to act, before it's too late.
