Please help save Pedders lane catio

The Issue

We are a cat-loving household with currently ten cats and kittens. Some of which are rescues. We are responsible owners, and all our cats are vaccinated, spayed and neutered. Over the years we have lost four cats to the road.

So three months ago, we built a Catio at the front of our house. The Catio is full of fun-loving apparatus, the cats love it and they spend ten hours a day in it. It is a safe area and at the same time giving them the outdoor experience.

They are happier and healthier and it’s an absolute joy.

My wife is disabled and we class the cats as therapy animals. As with the cats, her outlook on life has improved because of this catio. But sadly since the visit her health has deteriorated.

Prior to the build we asked the neighbours and received no objection. We checked regulations and read that we would not need planning permission. But a few days ago we received a visit from a ‘planning enforcement officer’, who stated without reason that it had to come down, and also adding that if we were to submit plans they would be rejected. We cannot allow this to happen, our cats are happy and safe.

There is absolutely no reason for this response.

So I am asking for your support, to sign this petition and share it on social media.

Our cats and kittens will be forever grateful

Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Kind regards

Adrian and Lorraine
