Castleberry ISD Is Whitewashing Its Website With a Fake AI Family

The Issue

Castleberry ISD is overwhelmingly Hispanic, around 90%, but the district is using fake AI-generated white families to welcome new and transfer students on its website.

That should bother everyone.

The first image on the website is an AI-generated white family. When you open the New and Transfer Student page, the same pattern continues: AI-generated white people, not real Castleberry students or families.

Meanwhile, the rest of the website shows real photos of diverse Castleberry students.

So this was not a lack of available photos. The district had real Castleberry students to show. It chose fake, white AI families instead.

That is whitewashing.

A district made up mostly of Hispanic students should not advertise itself to new families by replacing its actual community with generic AI-generated white people.

Castleberry has real students. Real parents. Real families. Real culture. Real stories. Those are the people who should be shown first.

Representation is not decoration. It tells families who belongs, who is valued, and who gets to be seen.

We are asking Principal Ruben Molinar, graphic designer Abagail Offenbaker and Castleberry ISD to remove the problematic AI-generated images, stop misrepresenting the district, and use real public materials that reflect the families Castleberry actually serves.

Castleberry should look like Castleberry.
