I know we've all seen the news. American voice actor Ryan Hurst is playing Kratos in the live-action God of War series. To many, this may sound like a great idea -- until you learn what could have been. With this petition, I aim to help recast the role to a much better-fitting actor: Ryan Hurst. The one from the UK.

From a first glance, you can already tell British Ryan is far more suited to play the character, as his American counterpart doesn't have nearly the same stern glare or beautiful head that we all know Kratos for. Not only that, but he also has experience that can lend to the role nicely: having worked as a drama teacher for many years after his career started, he's gained the same paternal wisdom from educating young kids as Kratos has raising Atreus.

Not only that, but he was known for playing more powerful roles akin to the Ghost of Sparta from the original trilogy: see his work in Night Girlz as the enigmatic Terry, alongside his portrayal of Agamemnon in live theatre, another strong Ancient Greek role to take from when acting in this series. His commanding prescence in the classroom would no doubt also translate well into the strong prescence Kratos is known for.

Personally, I believe Ryan Hurst (UK) is better suited to, if not born for, the role of Kratos than Ryan Hurst (US) is, bringing a hefty amount of experience that would lead to a compelling and truthful performance of the Ghost of Sparta. No-one deserves a shot at the role more. Amazon should heavily consider restarting casting in order to make this happen, and bring this legendary actor back onto the small screen for his biggest role yet.
