Dear Mr Sheader, Mr Village, the team at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre,  and the cast and creatives of Jesus Christ Superstar,

We, the undersigned would firstly like to say a heartfelt and massive thankyou to every single one of you for your talent and hard work. My experience of this production was the first of the show itself and I found it nothing short of electrifying; it moved me in a way I haven’t experienced before and changed the way I look at the ‘classics’ being revived; if every revival can breathe the life, passion and infectious energy the team has done into Lord Webber’s score and Tim Rice’s lyrics seen in your production by all of us and the critic’s great reviews, I personally think more people should be brave enough to take on the challenge.

That in mind, we, the undersigned, would like to petition for the making of a cast recording, as we feel the incredible arrangements by Tom Deering, and sung by Declan Bennett, Tyrone Huntley, Anoushka Lucas, David Thaxton, Peter Caulfield and the rest of the cast would be done a disservice if allowed to simply fade into memory when the run of the show ends, as many fantastic pieces of musical theatre have done before, on 27th August. There are, I believe, rumours of a West End transfer in late 2016/early 2017, which excites us immensely, but we feel the current Regent’s Park cast deserve to be heard by a wider audience, as we know the theatre have managed to do so successfully with recordings of other productions in the past.
