Grass roots mission to convince casting agents and the production team affiliated with The Hunt for Gollum to cast Ben Barnes in the now available lead role of Aragorn.

A few compelling arguments for casting BB as Aragorn in THFG: 

He’s the right age and aesthetic. (The events in THFG will take place during the 17 years between Bilbo’s 111th birthday and Frodo’s departure from the Shire; so, Aragorn should roughly look about the same age as he did in the LOTR trilogy — taking into account that as a Dunedain, he looks much younger than his actual years.)

BB has the physicality to bear Aragorn’s burden and the acting prowess to convey his complex emotional range.

Having played Narnia’s Prince Caspian (among other popular fantasy roles), he’s shown he knows his way around the fantasy realm. (It’s also kind of cool that were he cast, he’d had played two of the Inkling’s members most beloved characters.) 

He already has sword training and horse riding skills. 

It also helps he’s a huge fan of Tolkien’s work, which means he’d respect the source material (past interviews also reveal Tolkien was a research topic in his days at uni). 

He sings — and so does Aragorn. 

He’s said on multiple occasions he’d love to take on the role.
