Carroll County residents deserve transparency.
Many parents, students, staff, and community members have raised concerns about how decisions regarding Outdoor School are being made. Questions remain about committee meetings, discussions held outside of public view, the future of Outdoor School, and whether the community is being given complete and accurate information.
There are growing concerns that Outdoor School may be permanently eliminated rather than transitioned into a day program. If these rumors are false, county leaders and the Board of Education should clearly communicate their plans. If decisions are being considered, the public deserves to know before they are finalized.
We need answers:
• Why were discussions about Outdoor School not brought fully into the public eye?
• What committees have been involved in making recommendations?
• What safety reports and supporting documents were used to justify the closure?
• What is the actual plan for Outdoor School moving forward?
• When will the public have an opportunity to review and discuss these plans?
If we stay silent, decisions affecting our children and our community will continue to be made without public input.
