A man stopped three illegal Wood-Pigeon shootings on 19th, 28th and 31st December 2021, in Ruskington in Lincolnshire. The men were not protecting serious damage to crops, but were just shooting them for fun, and the birds were not always dead when they hit the ground.
It is a serious crime, that carries the weight of a 6 month prison sentence and an unlimited fine.

The police initially refused to admit the shootings were illegal. And so the matter was then passed onto pc160 Nick Willey Rural and Wildlife crime officer, who likewise flat out lied in writing that it was legal. Thus the man reported this officer for lying, and so it got passed to pc206 Deborah Nunn, the very head of Lincolnshires Rural and Wildlife crime team with 8 officers beaneath her. At the end of her investigation, she telephoned the man that she had concluded that the shootings WERE indeed illegal, and that crimes has been committed.Yet the very next day she just closed the case, with NO mention in writing to even acknowledge that any crime had taken place. She swept the whole thing under the rug!! On the phone, Debby Nunn had also told the man that it couldnt go to courrt because it would be thrown out of court, because the men could argue that they were shooting the Wood-Pigeons to prevent the spread of Avian flu. But after speaking to DEFRA and others, this also turned out to be a total lie, so the man had to report the head of the Rural and Wildlife crime team as well. The change in the laws that now makes it a prosecutable offence to shoot Wood-Pigeons (when the shooters cant prove it was to protect serious damage to crops) took place as far back as two years ago, yet there has never been a prosectution for this offense anywhere in country, even though it goes on absolutely everywhere throughout the UK, and also in Lincolnshire there still occur large-scale illegal pigeon culls organised by the farmers, that take place on the farmers fields around December (its illegal to shoot the birds in sowing season). Demand that Lincolnshire police enforce the new animal welfare laws detailed out by DEFRA, and don't let them sweep the three cases of the Ruskington illegal Wood-Pigeon shootings under the rug!
