Right now in BC social workers with the ministry of children and family development are not required to register with the BC College of Social Workers. In result of this parents have no way of making a formal complaint on a social workers conduct. Here in BC we have a complaints resolution department where you can make a complaint and the complaint is sent right back to your social worker and most likely discarded. If the social workers were required to register with the college that would give parents a way to make a formal complaint, and have a third party investigate the workers actions and decisions.

Kids are not being heard, and families are being torn apart. This department of government desperatly needs a look at, and an over view of what is really happening in BC. Parents have no rights, and no way of having their side heard, courts are backed up with many parents who just want a chance to be in their child's life period, but denied because of what a social worker with MCFD sees fit for that child... We parents need to be heard, and change needs to come.
