CarMax knows which vehicles on their lots are free from safety recalls, and which ones are ticking automotive time bombs.  So how does CarMax decide which car buyers are steered toward buying safe cars, and who is steered into buying cars with deadly safety recall defects? 

Many of the victims of CarMax's dangerous practices are African American and Hispanic car buyers and their families.

CarMax promises that all of their cars must pass a "125-point inspection," but they FAIL to get free repairs done to fix potentially lethal defects.

Typical safety recall defects in "CarMax Quality Certified" vehicles include: faulty brakes, catching on fire, loss of steering, stalling in traffic, and exploding Takata airbags that have killed and maimed hundreds of people, including causing blindness and bleeding to death.

It's against federal law for car dealers to sell dangerous vehicles with killer safety recall defects when they are NEW.  Those vehicles are certainly no safer when they have the exact same safety defects and are USED.

We believe that even if you can't afford a brand new car, or simply want to economize, and no matter the color of your skin, or your ethnicity, you shouldn't have to worry that a licensed car dealer is deliberately selling you a car that is so unsafe, it would be a federal crime if they sold it to you as a new car.
