Carlton & United Breweries have declared they will not lease or sell any of their land to those wishing to construct a cable car on Mt Wellington / kunanyi. Thank you all for signing the petition, everyone of you made this fantastic result possible! While this is a severe blow to the cable car developer's plans, we must stay vigilant, as the possibility remains they may try to obtain part of the Wellington Park at the top of Old Farm Road for their proposal. CUB's decision makes it clearer than ever that the developers do not have a social licence to turn the mountain into a theme park. We must keep pressure on the State Government, the Hobart City Council and the Wellington Park Management Trust, to have them follow the example set by CUB.
