If you are not aware, someone, with the help of others outside of our community, put together a ridiculous petition in an attempt to remove Carlisle’s mascot, the Indians, from our local schools, of which has been around for decades. I myself, a Carlisle graduate, among multitudes of other Carlisle graduates and residents, am highly offended at this ludicrous attempt and find it grossly unacceptable to give in to any outrageous demands of these absurd sects of today’s cancel culture. 

Carlisle’s use of the Indians mascot is NOT a racist gesture, and it never was, regardless of what the few from outside of our community may falsely claim. The use of the Indians name as a mascot is a symbol of great pride and strength to those of us who proudly call Carlisle our hometown and alma mater. It is a nod of respect and honor. Furthermore, many of us from Carlisle have Native American in our bloodline. To remove the Indians name from our schools would be a great insult to our community, as it would remove part of our heritage and our beloved symbol of our great power and strength.

We stand together and call on our community and our local officials to not give in to the ridiculous demands of today’s cancel culture. We will not bow. Our voices will be heard. We are the majority. We are the strong. We are the proud. Like so many before us, we take great pride in calling ourselves the Carlisle Indians. If you agree, please let your voices be heard.
